Neutrals are always fantastic investments.  Grey slacks, navy coat, white tee, nude pumps, nude bag.  They’re safe.  You’re not going to get exhausted of them.  They choose everything.

But, sometimes I look at the much more neutral-heavy sections of my wardrobe as well as wonder, where’s the oomph?  The surprise?  The sartorial excitement?  Where’s the Lucy to my Ethel?  The Joey to my Ross?

Just before I throw my hands up and/or choose to overnight a pair of neon gauchos to my apartment to give myself the much-needed sartorial begin the pants (pun intended?), I in some cases handle to conjure up an unlikely medley of neutral shades like the ones today that quietly surprise me.

I like the impact that these tensioned-filled pairings create: warm nudes as well as awesome greys, navy blues as well as jet blacks, ivories as well as bright whites.  These actors that generally win in the “best supporting” category, taking center stage and hitting it out of the park by foiling as well as amplifying the other.

For me, the result is some wonderful fashion feels that are anything however neutral.

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. Does anybody state “slacks” anymore?  Like, other than my grandmother?

P.P.S. By prominent demand, I’m sharing all the details on my charm routine right here tomorrow!  See you then!
