Once again it’s time for Nova Scotia’s artists and members of the cultural community to join in celebrating our province’s vibrant arts and culture sector. The Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership Council invites you to attend the second annual Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala and Conference on October 18, 2007.

This year we will be at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre in Membertou (Sydney), Nova Scotia. The event will provide a chance to meet and speak with artists, and representatives from cultural organizations, agencies and government about ways to promote and strengthen Nova Scotia’s arts and culture sector.

This year’s event will explore and celebrate Artistic Connections. With discussion topics ranging from the roles of local and provincial organizations in cultural development to how we are reaching global markets, the conference will encourage discussion on the best ways to strengthen Nova Scotia’s culture sector.

Following the daytime conference, participants will gather for a reception at the new Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design in downtown Sydney to celebrate the official opening of this vibrant new facility.

Participants will then return to Membertou Centre for the evening Awards Gala, at which the recipients of the 2007 Portia White Prize and Prix Grand-Pré will be announced. As well, the first-ever recipients of the Community Arts and Culture Recognition Award and Established Artist Recognition Awards will be named. The evening will also include dinner and entertainment provided by various Nova Scotian artists.
