When reviewing concerns regarding application and funding review processes the council will refer to the following principles for guidance:
Criteria
The CNSLC will conduct a review if one of the following criteria are met:
A Culture Division funding program’s goal unfairly excludes the eligibility of potential applicants who meets the purpose of the program.
Application criteria are found to be unnecessary or to unfairly exclude potential applicants.
The peer jury or assessment panel process discriminates against an applicant.
The Culture Division will respond to questions relating to individual applications as well as peer jury and assessment panel processes. For more information refer to Culture Division Programs
Process
The inquirer is responsible for contacting a Culture Division program officer to discuss their concern.
If conversation between the inquirer and the program officer does not resolve the issue, the inquirer may request that the CNSLC conduct a review of program criteria.
The CNSLC will refer your concern to the Program Committee for review and recommendation.
The Program Committee will make a recommendation to the CNSLC after completing its review.
All juried applications and assessment panel decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
