Values & Objectives
Objectives of Nova Scotia Arts and Culture Partnership
Council:
a) To review any or all culture division programs and,
as needed, to recommend to the Minister revision(s) thereto.
b) To advise the Minister regarding the creation and implementation
of new programs and/or initiatives as needed for the continued
growth of the sector.
c) To foster a dynamic and direct relationship between
NSACPC, the cultural sector, government and all Nova Scotians.
d) To increase government, community and private resources
for the sector.
e) To build capacity within the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture
Sector.
Core Values of the Nova Scotia Arts and Culture
Partnership Council:
a) The Value of Partnership - The council endeavours to
build a strong relationship with the Minister, the Culture
Division and all Nova Scotians, recognizing that success
of this partnership depends on the good will of all parties.
b) The Value of Consensus - Wherever possible in the decision
making process, the NSACPC endeavours to reach a consensus.
c) The Value of Transparent Process - The NSACPC operates
in an open, consistent, equitable and accountable way.
d) The Value of Diversity - The NSACPC explores, encourages
and supports our cultural differences and celebrates the
richness and variety of cultural identity and endeavours
in Nova Scotia.
e) The Value of Artistic Merit - The NSACPC is guided
by the principles of artistic autonomy and independent
assessment with respect to artistic merit.
f) The Value of Linkages - The NSACPC avtively seeks out
opportunities to make direct connections and linkages
with the community and the arts and culture sector.
g) The Value of Access - The NSACPC believes that involvement
in the arts can have lasting and transforming effects
on individuals and communities and strives to create opportunities
for participation, contribution and engagement in cultural
activities
